Situated in the picturesque village of Yarcombe the resident owners of The Belfry Country Hotel extend a truly warm welcome creating an atmosphere of friendliness and peaceful relaxation. “At The Belfry attention to detail is important to us whether in our guest rooms, the food we serve or those little extras that can make your stay even more enjoyable”.
The The Belfry at Yarcombe, Restaurant and Rooms is a superb place and was one of the first names on Handpicked in Devon’s wish list when collating our site.
The Rooms
There are six guest bedrooms here at The Belfry, each with its own style, character and aspect. There is one super-king-size, two king-size, two double and one twin-bedded room. One double and the twin are on the ground floor.
Each of the rooms is named after one of the great poets of the nineteenth century, all of whom were writing around the time that The Belfry was planned and built as the village school. For detailed room information please click here

Food at The Belfry
We offer our resident and non-resident diners a menu of freshly prepared dishes using either locally sourced, best of british or fairtrade ingredients when available, of the best quality.
The Restaurant
At The Belfry we serve Modern British Food with a slight Gastro feel in the Belfry Restaurant, ideally situated for get togethers between Taunton, Honiton and Chard and on the East Devon, Somerset border.
Everything is made on the premises and the restaurant is rapidly gaining popularity with our local guest so seating just 12, it is advisable to reserve a table at the weekends.
We hope you will visit us and enjoy dining at The Belfry.

The Area
Year round the area around Yarcombe is quite simply one of the most beautiful in the country. Yarcombe is almost at the geographical centre of the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which stretches from Honiton in the West to Taunton in the North and to Chard and Axminster in the East and South. Peppered with villages, valleys and hills the whole area is unspoilt and a delight to explore. Whether you visit in the crisp Spring, the buzzing height of Summer, the misty Autumn or the wonderful Winter the area is always picturesque and fun to explore.
