Rumour Restaurant and Wine Bar sits almost at the top of the high street in Totnes. A warm atmosphere and exceptional food for lunch and dinner make for one of the most popular spots in town. A team that is passionate about fresh, seasonal and local produce, with well crafted and consistently delivered menus. None of our food is bought in, it is all made here on the premises from pizza bases, bread, pasta; the list is endless. Thoughtful service-relaxed yet professional-puts diners at ease and makes for an enjoyable time at every visit.
Alongside its eclectic a la carte menu and legendary home-made pizzas; Rumour boasts an extensive speciality beer selection and maintains a great line in ales and lager. A great place for a special occasion, a leisurely lunch or a quick pint. You would be hardpressed not to love it!

Rumour Wine Bar has been around for many years and has become one of Totnes' best known places to enjoy good food, speciality beers and a unique atmosphere.
The current owners have restored the restaurants old beams and wooden bar and used reclaimed timber to just update rather than change the interior. The decided to buy Rumour after being regular customers and when the opportunity came up they jumped at the chance to be a part of Rumour.
They have invested a lot into Rumour, giving it two well trained head chefs, which means that without a doubt you can be sure of the consistently high standards to care and skill in the kitchen. We are lucky that we have a great local clientele who come again and again...and we welcome all of you who have never tried us before, to come in, eat and enjoy.
